Schawuot
Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that occurs on the sixth
day of the Hebrew month of Sivan (late May or early June), 50 days after Pesach
is celebrated. Shavuot commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Ten
Commandments to Moses and the Israelites at Mount Sinai. Furthermore it is a
harvest festival because in Israel wheat is harvested at this time.
